Membership at 134 in 2023 – Upcoming Membership Drive in 2024:

The Lake Orion Lake Association (LOLA) is a voluntary non-profit organization and has been serving the lake community of Lake Orion continuously since 1977. The association was formed in 1977 following a surprise announcement by the DNR to expand the DNR public access on Indianwood Road to over one-hundred car/trailer parking spaces. LOLA was successful in working with the DNR to reduce the number of car/trailer parking spaces to thirty-eight.

Since then, we have had several successes including the creation of the No-Wake buoy program, working with the Township for funding the Sheriff Department Marine Division patrols, continued water quality monitoring and testing and establishing a seven-year Special Assessment District (SAD) in 2015 for lake-wide weed management program and approval of SAD #2 that will provide weed management for the next ten years. LOLA has been successful with working with the Moceri team to minimize lake use density with their three-phase apartment/business projects.

These successes would not be possible without the continued financial support of lake residents who are members of LOLA and member donations. Currently, LOLA has 134 members and has received over $2500 in donations. LOLA will be launching a renewed effort this Spring to promote the importance of being a LOLA member. You can be part of LOLA and help with key issues on the lake including over-crowding, education of boaters on safe boating practices, and being a responsible boater. Having an effective lake association is paramount to being able to preserve our lake community. The continued support from our lake community is appreciated. Click here to join LOLA today!
